Easily one of the best artistic designs of any ACF Film with an engaging story that doesn’t need the use of dialogue.

This uplifting poem delivered over striking visuals of death, life and love was named one of the five greatest love poems ever by Poetry Slam Founder Marc Smith. The beat poet, Derrick Brown, has performed around the world for the last decade both as a headliner and with bands such as the Flaming Lips and the Cold War Kids.

GHOST OF OLD HIGHWAYS

Director Dan’s Bush film, “The Signal”, was purchased on it’s opening night at the Sundance Film Festival and played in theaters worldwide. On “Ghost of Old Highways”, he teams up with Co-Writer/Star/Composer Ben Lovett for the tale of a man trapped in a fractured purgatory dreamscape of the Civil War. Filmed near Cold Mountain, local actors were cast and local businesses housed/fed the crew of this intense film with incredible cinematography.

THE HONEYMOON SUITE

Award-winning UK writer/director Sam Leifer already has several international commercials, films, and BBC series under his belt. With “The Honeymoon Suite” he showcases the deft comedic skills he’s developed over the years. This hilarious story about the clumsy start to an Orthodox arranged marriage is full of great performances and dry British humor.

ME OR THE DOG

This British comedy certainly knows where to put the drama as it follows a man who thinks his dog Dudley is talking to him. Dudley’s advice isn’t exactly helping his relationship. UK director Abner Pastoll’s film features rising star Edward Hogg (next seen in Roland Emmerich’s Shakespeare thriller, Anonymous) and the voice of British comedian Martin Clunes.

Local filmmaker Katie Damien combines great editing with classic animation in this fun, sweet adventure of the pursuit of love.

WAITING FOR YESTERDAY

It took a lot of work for writer/director/animator Patrick Junghans to complete this poignant animated film, and the end result proves it was definitely worth it. Through unique, expressive animation this story of a depressed man struggling with the haunting memories of his deceased wife leaves a deep impression long after it ends.
